St George Foundation grant
The St George Foundation is a national charity that seeks to provide the best possible future for young Australians with special needs. Since 1990, over $13 million has been distributed to hundreds of charities to fund programs that improve the lives of disabled and disadvantaged Australian children.
The St George Foundation has provided a $26,000 grant to the MJD Foundation to purchase equipment for young Indigenous Australians with Machado Joseph Disease.
Equipment purchased to date is:
- Electric wheelchair for a girl with MJD in Nhulunbuy
- TV for the same girl in Nhulunbuy for her bedroom
- Air Conditioner in bedroom of a 16 year old girl on Groote Eylandt
- Electric hospital bed for the same Groote Eylandt girl
- Beach Wheelchair for young girl on Groote Eylandt
- Bedroom blitz project for young girl on Groote Eylandt
