Great Wall of China Marathon

In May 2010, Matt Ascroft (on the right in this photo) ran the Great Wall of China Marathon and raised over $4,000 for the MJD Foundation. Matt first heard of the MJDF when reading The Australian online whilst working in Singapore, and decided it was a cause he wanted to support.

There were 1,800 competitors from 43 countries.
There were 5,164 stairs.

Matt completed the marathon in 5h 31m.
He came 15th in his age group, and 111th overall

What a fantastic result!
